Allan’s Site
No, I haven’t quit typing these web pages. At least, not deliberately. Simply put, I’ve been swamped: Work, with growing responsibilities. Home, especially the boys, and especially when I have to manage them alone when Hsuan is traveling. And a backlog of family financial record keeping and statements that stretches back months or, in some cases, over a year.
It never ends, and I can barely keep up, let alone catch up.
That doesn’t keep me from trying, though. I’ll get there.
Meanwhile, I’ve also decided to give up trying to back-date photoblog entries. There are just too many things to catch up on. My intention, instead, is to start fresh as soon as I can get the time. In lieu of writing new, detailed photoblog entries, I’ll just upload a bunch of new photo sets to my Flickr page... again, when I get the time. It turns out that Flickr did something that messed with syncing photos with my iPhoto library, and now iPhoto is re-downloading from Flickr those photos that I uploaded from iPhoto already. Meaning I’ve got a lot of duplicates that I have to wade through, delete, and then re-upload the original albums.
I’ve also decided that it’s finally time for me to switch away from iWeb for making these sites. I’m still searching for a replacement, but it looks like I’ll be settling on Sandvox. Personally, I don’t think it’s as good iWeb, based on my experience with demos, but most reviews that I’ve seen say it’s closest to iWeb in terms of interface and user experience. I guess that will have to do.
Until then, at least my 2013 Photoblog will remain accessible, and from there the older content can be reached.
3/25/14 UPDATE: I have the new Sandvox-based site beginning here. Please go to and bookmark the new site, as I plan on jumping into using Sandvox and don’t plan on coming back to iWeb. (Still, you never know...) However, all of my old iWeb pages should remain intact.
